Obituary

On September 4th, 1934 the world was introduced to a beautiful angel. Erminia "Minnie" Gonzales was born to Maria Herrera and Rafael Gonzales in San Patricio, New Mexico. The eldest of nine siblings, she was raised throughout New Mexico, California, and Colorado.

On July 29th, 1952 Minnie married the love of her life Andres S. Casarez. Together they shared 11 children, and opened their home to numerous other children, and welcomed them as family. So many called her mom or grandma, and we were all given the same unconditional love.

Minnie loved welcoming and feeding anyone that came to her home, including the birds and squirrels. She was the glue that held the family together, and her family was her world. Minnie worked hard throughout her life. Many years she spent laboring in the fields along side her family. No matter how long her work days, she always found the energy to ensure her family was fed. Her cooking and tortillas will be missed. Minnie enjoyed sitting with her grandchildren telling her stories, collecting wind chimes and crosses, and doing her word searches at the dining room table.

Minnie is survived by her children Manuel (Lily) Casarez, Lupe (Margil) Flores, Rosemary (Luis) Reyes, Conny (Pablo) Casarez, Andres (Cathy) Casarez, Anita (Anthony) Leon, Benito (Pam) Casarez, Janie (Norman) Behrens, and Hope (Sam) Subia, 27 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren, and her dear friend Stella Pando.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Andres Casarez; parents Maria and Rafael; daughter Linda Ferguson; sister Marian Gallegos; grandsons Ernest Romero, Romeo Cordova, Eddie Ferguson III, Nathan Ferguson, Esau Autobee.

Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7 p.m. on Tuesday May 23rd, 2017 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Funeral services and Mass will be at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday May 24th, 2017 at St. Peter's Catholic Church.

She will be deeply missed by all who had the honor of knowing and loving her.
