Willie was born in Clarks Nebraska on March 1st, 1932. He grew up with three brothers and one sister. Willie graduated from High School in Stromsburg, Nebraska. He married his high school sweetheart, Donna Darlene Sherwood.

When Donna and Willie moved from Nebraska in 1967, he traded his farming background for a career in trucking. Willie and Donna started their successful trucking business, Willie's Grain. After Willie retired in 1989 from trucking, he decided to go back to his "roots" of farming. This time he could pick and choose which tasks he would do which gave him more than ample time to stay at his Arizona home in Sun Lakes.

Willie loved baseball and golf. He coached Legion baseball and loved going to Rockies games. Every once in a while he would make it a family affair and invite the entire clan to a Suite. Willie swung a mean golf club, much like a baseball bat. Willie also loved playing cards on the internet while listening to some Old Cowboy Country Music.

Willie was a much loved man and will be truly missed by his family and friends.
